There are several definitions for a cashless digital wallet:

  • Resort wallet – offered by Casino Management System (CMS) providers (i.e., IGT, Aristocrat, Scientific Games, Konami, etc.) and integrated into the casino’s mobile app, this type of cashless digital wallet allows for funds to flow from a smartphone to slot machines and table games, and non-gaming amenities (gift shop, coffee shop) on-property by entering a guest’s players club account information directly into the app and selecting Play+ as the means to fund their digital wallet.
    • Play+ currently integrates into all CMS solutions in-market.

 

  • Physical transfer of cash via kiosk/cage transaction – casino personnel working in the cage, or players club, add cash to the guest’s cashless wallet through a cash access provider. Sightline Payments does not consider this to be a true cashless solution as there is still transfer of physical cash between people.

 

  • Play+ allows for casino patrons to fund their Play+ account without cash by using a credit/debit card, ACH or PayPal as funding sources. The patron can then seamlessly move those funds to the resort wallet using only their smartphone. Why leave your favorite slot game to stand in line at the cage?

Play+ is not a wallet, it’s a non-gaming reloadable prepaid access account enabled to accept deposits from multiple sources where they can be subsequently transferred to gaming/resort wallets and spent in retail/F&B and ATMs. 

 

  • Play+ solves the issue of portability of funds and a truly cashless and contactless experience which does not require interaction with cash at a casino cage, ATM or kiosk device, or gaming device.

 

  • Play+ allows for the funding of gaming activity on various gaming touch points (slots, tables, digital/online), yet also allows for spend outside gaming on point of sale and ATM withdrawals via the physical Discover prepaid card that each patron receives upon enrollment into Play+. Most importantly, Play+ allows for cash out functionality from the patron’s gaming/wagering account whether at your property or on your sports/igaming platform.  No other cashless solution can replicate this functionality like Play+.

New research conducted during the pandemic has confirmed that casino patrons are now ready for a cashless gaming experience due to the heightened concern of touching cash and payment devices, such as ATM’s.

  • Play+ is the only cashless solution that allows for both funding and withdrawals/cash outs. A casino guest can fund Play+ with credit/debit, ACH, PayPal and then move those funds to the gaming environment (slots, tables, online, etc.) for wagering. 

Yes. Both Play+ and a resort wallet are required to provide a casino guest with the ability for a “true digital payment experience” at slot machines or table games.

  • The cashless resort wallet is required to move funds between Play+ and the gaming access devices; whereas, Play+ is required to provide the ability for funding electronically and having access to funds outside of the casino environment.

  • A player may elect to only have a resort wallet (typically connected to CMS provider) to play at slots or tables, but they would need to fund that resort wallet with cash via a kiosk or casino cage, which creates a non-cashless/contactless environment.
